Computer Information Systems at Oakland Community College is proud to be recertified by the National Security Agency (NSA) until May of 2013 for the delivery of a core set of skills in our Homeland Security program. Students will receive a nationally recognized security certificate after completing all nine mapped courses outlined below and either our Associates in Information Technologies for Homeland Security or Certificate in Information Technologies for Homeland Security.
The following CIS courses are mapped to the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), National Standard 4011, as part of the National Information Assurance Training Program (NIETP). In accordance with our certified agreement approved in November of 2004 and re-approved in July 2007, the following competencies must be achieved in each course listed:
Our CIS program successfully matches a nationally adopted set of best practices in Information Security. Students will gain skills necessary to perform roles in information security within the Federal Government. For further information, please email OCC's NSA Program Coordinator.
