Computer Information Systems curriculum is redesigned every four years to stay current with the needs of the computer industry via the recommendations of the CIS Advisory Committee, and periodic reviews by the College Curriculum Review Committee. The committee members are computer professionals that give voice to the skills required for employment in computer companies.
Students will gain successful employment from our many offerings. They can pursue an Associates Degree, Certificate Program, Certificate of Achievement, or Professional Certification for their professional development or personal enrichment. These options satisfy the needs of the transfer students, returning students, and working professionals.
In addition, students will receive a nationally recognized security certificate by taking our mapped courses outlined by the National Security Agency (NSA) and upon completion either our security degree or security certificate.
Computer classes are offered at five campus locations: Auburn Hills, Highland Lakes, Orchard Ridge, Royal Oak, and Southfield. High level classes are generally taught either at Auburn Hills or Orchard Ridge campuses. In addition, CIS classes are offered online at most campuses.
