CIS Advisory Committee is responsible for guiding the changes in the Computer Information Systems curriculum. The information technology field (IT) is in a perpetual state of rapid change. As a trainer of workers in the IT field, the CIS discipline must frequently revise the curriculum to keep its students' skills current. CIS Advisory Committee is comprised of local information technology business people, CIS full-time and part-time faculty, CIS graduates employed in the computer field, and OCC administrators. The local business people are selected from a wide range of companies, covering the spectrum of small, medium, and large companies within southeastern Michigan. Typically the committee meets every two or three years to review the current CIS curriculum to suggest any necessary changes. CIS discipline members take the suggestions and move the proposed course and degree changes through the College Curriculum Review Committee. If you are interested in participating in the CIS Advisory Committee, please contact the discipline chairperson. |
